My dad, Sarah, Adrian, Ann, and I head for the East Portal of the Moffat Tunnel, a railroad tunnel that goes under the continental divide at Rollins Pass, to scout for cross country ski and snowshoe opportunities. The mountains looks stormy, and the parking lot is cold and windy enough to convince Ann and Adrian to stay with the vehicles. The rest of us find that it’s quite nice in the trees, and have a good ski. I go a little further than Dad & Sarah, break tree line, and am rewarded with some great views and powdery turns. It was a great way to welcome the new year!

ooof. nice photos.
is jezzebell keeping up ok?
i was at June Mtn this weekend. it got 4 feet of incredibly light / cold snow.
Jezze, poor girl, is as enthusiastic as ever, but is getting stiff hind hips and knees after playing hard on days like these. We’re not sure how much longer she’ll be able to do it.
yeah, i always wondered that about dogs. i mean, do they know they’re getting old? what’s going on in that head when they can’t jump on a couch, etc??
jezz.. heh.
looks like it was some primo $hit up on that mtn tho!
There was some fluffy pow pow! I’m already drooling to hit it again.
