This was mostly an educational experience for me. When I saw Johnny, John, and June Carter Cash play on my birthday in 1996, I didn’t realize quite what a legacy I was witnessing. While the movie increased my appreciation of that legacy, it didn’t shed too much light on the enigma I’ve always been curious about:a born again Christian who wears black and is facinated, almost reverent, of the murderous side of human nature. But maybe Johnny is best left an enigma.

Have you read his biography, Cash? It’s an interesting book and provides a bit more insight.
I’ll consider that a recommendation…
Autobiography, I should have said. And please do.
He goes into his early life in much more detail, stuff that the movie just barely sort of skimmed over, like his brother’s death.
