All the stories I like have some kind of subconscious element, and in cases like this I don’t mind at all when they are allowed to run free in the “real world” of the story. This movie is bursting at the seams with creative energy and wonderful metaphors. I laughed uncontrollably during parts at the ridiculous accuracy of the dream parodies. It’s a marvelous trip through the complexities of overcoming the myriad insecurities that can plague our relationships.

Liz and i rented this guy as well, and i remember not liking it as much as i had expected to.. i don’t really recall why, other than it being on the far edge of ‘quirky’, and bordering ‘twisted.’
of course, i’m not remembering exactly why at the moment. I just remember the weird workplace dreams he had… but i DID love it when he took everyone out with his giant hands.
I recall thinking, if this didn’t really appeal to me, it would be way too much. I can see overloading early on this movie and giving up on it.
