My aunt and grandmother lavish food and music upon us while we stop in Burlington, Vermont to see them. I haven’t made it out here since my visit on my big bike tour eleven years ago. It’s rare and warm family time.
The wild rain is predicted to continue, but breaks long enough for us to run up the trail along Lake Champlain a ways. Sailboats frolic in the lake while we push ourselves to work off some of that fabulous food.
The forests here can feel claustrophobic compared to our usual desert and mountain habitat. It’s a relief to us to see some mountains in the distance!
