Today we start heading West, but the sunny weather tempts us to find another hike before leaving Virginia. Hungry Mother State Park supplies a really pleasant loop around a reservoir in the oak and maple forest we’re coming to expect in this part of the country, but there is another small budding tree in the undergrowth that I guess might be magnolia. The quietness of these woods is only broken now and then by other hikers, most walking dogs.
Our next destination, is my friend Nathan’s in Oklahoma City, but we hope to take at least one more walk in the woods on our way there.

Why on earth would you head west? It’s so much better in the east. Just kidding… sorta 😉 We are probably going to head west again this year, too. Well not before going further east to SC for a little while, but soon.
Cheers,
Jenn
