With the Subaru temporarily off the road, we were looking for hikes we could get to in Ann’s Volvo. The Olancha Pass trailhead turned out to be perfect, with Sage Flat road providing pavement most of the way. We hadn’t hiked in a while, and our distance estimates were a bit short. We started at 4 pm, and pooped out around 6:45. I managed to run up to what I thought was the pass by myself, just barely. Our dog Jezzie lagged behind me, tired also. It was well after dark when we made it back to the car.
