This area has been frozen solid since I first photographed it in November. Now it’s like the ice is clinging to the trees for dear life.

One response to “Thawing Copse”
What a really beautiful picture! A “copse” huh? Don’t hear that word used a lot. It sounds right, but I looked it up anyway in the Moroccan leather-bound, gilt-edged dictionary Aunt Jean gave me for my college graduation in 1963 and you are right, it is short for “coppice”, a thicket of small trees. Your description of this copse is also apt.
