This hike takes us into the “maze” area of Joshua Tree National Park, where the rock piles are more dense and navigation can be difficult. There is a network of trails here that are well signed and fairly easy to follow, so long as you don’t wander off up or down a random wash. Occasionally San Gorgonio peak pokes up on the horizon to the northwest, and dry yucca blooms decorate the washes. I run five miles or so, making an extra lap around the window loop, then walk on the return leg with Ann.
We have no trouble finding the Maze, but almost miss the Window!
The track for this one is Ann’s, I lost mine.
