Veggies
Our share of Colorado State University’s community shared agriculture plan is providing us with an increasing cornucopia of organic vegetables and flowers. We get varieties you never see in the store, like Cosmic Purple Carrots. The colors alone are a feast.

Wedding: Jason & Laurie
I rouse myself painfully early from my spot on the floor of Kim & Toby’s new house, the site of Pete’s going away party. Some breakfast and coffee at the Watercourse revive me, and I head northwest into the mountains to meet Ann at the Shoshoni Yoga Retreat where our friends Jason & Lauri are…

Farewell Pete
Pete‘s going away party is one of those gatherings that attracts people I haven’t seen in years. I stay up too late and reconnect with some friends, but I’ve never been good at saying goodbye. I just can’t make the realization hit me – it always comes after they’re gone.

I celebrate more age
For thirty-three years now my family has spoiled me on my birthday. Thanks Ann, Mom, and Dad – I don’t deserve it. My actual birthday is on Tuesday. More Photos

SPL Lives
I nearly got rid of the old Self-Propelled Lazyboy in our downsizing liquidation, but chose to rehab it instead. With a new back tire and rear shifter, and a little elbow grease, I now have many comfortable commutes along the Cache La Poudre River to look forward to. And so does Jezze.

Yard Sale
Stage 2 of our possession liquidation is complete! We got a good taste of the garage sale culture in Fort Collins, got rid of quite a bit of stuff, and made a little scratch. There was a distinctive first wave of persnickity bargain hunters starting at about 7:30 am. One guy switched some price tags,…

Name the birdie
These birds breed in Alaska, then migrate south for the winter. We see them here during their travels. The bright red head is most vivid early in the summer. They have a reputation for shyness, so I feel lucky to have nabbed this picture!

It’s On – Liquidation Time
Our fifth wheel purchase is making progress, making a drastic reduction in our inventory necessary. As we look around us, we realize that nearly everything must go. The RV will accommodate our bare essentials, and not much more. A garage sale was already in the works, but Ann took the reins and distributed a price…

Do You Know This Dog?
This is Jezze, believe it or not, in her fashionably short summer haircut. I’ve never seen what she looks like under all that hair – like a little lamb whose fleece is black as coal!
